Thermodynamic and Kinetic Calculations for Advanced
Intermetallics and Alloys for Ehtylene Crackers
This project addresses the conditiosn for coking and carburization
of alloys that are in serive within Ethylene Crackers. Depending upon the
carbon potential and oxygen partial pressure one can obtain protective
oxide layer or deleterious carbide formation. In addition, carbon
may diffuse through the alloy. This web page will describe thermodynamic
and kinetic methods to address this problem.
